Paediatric Rehabilitation

This includes all of those therapeutic strategies aimed at obtaining the highest possible functional level in children with motor impairments between the ages of 0 and 18 years.

Among these strategies we find Early Childhood Intervention (children from 0 to 6 years of age).

The specific aims vary from case to case depending on the clinical diagnosis of the patient and on his/her individual characteristics, amongst other factors.

Here we deal with different kinds of health problems: the Central Nervous System (cerebral palsy, malformations of the neural duct, foetal distress, the Locomotive System (congenital malformations, deformities, myopathies…), genetic syndromes, prematurity, etc

Depending on the goals, during rehabilitation we use a variety of techniques to treat children and teenagers.

With younger children it is necessary to turn treatment into a game. In this way we can motivate them and involve them in the process of their own treatment.
