Neuro-Rehabilitation

Neuro-Rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary speciality which aims to recover lost function after neurological damage or to achieve new function for the first time in the case of children.

 

Within the process of neuro-rehabilitation, physiotherapy plays an important role. Using different techniques, always based on the latest advances in neuroscience, we will intervene on the Nervous System.

 

The range of conditions that can find benefits to this discipline is very broad and include Central and/or Peripheral Nervous System disorders.

 

The most common conditions that can be found in clinical practice would be:

 

  • Spinal cord injury: quadriplegia, paraplegia, syringomyelia ...
  • Brain damage: stroke, brain hypoxia, head trauma, tumors, encephalopathies ...
  • Neurodegenerative diseases: Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, ALS, Alzheimer, dementia ...
  • Peripheral lesions: radial palsy, carpal tunnel syndrome, plexopathies ...
  • Other disabling conditions or at risk: muscular dystrophies, myopathies, dystonias, prematurity, genetic syndromes...
